The Rising Stars of 2015 Rugby World Cup
There’s no doubt that this year’s 2015 Rugby World Cup is going to be a good one. The ranking of teams and players year after year differ, but this year there’s an array of players worth keeping an eye on; all of which could potentially enjoy an incredible World Cup.
Exeter Chiefs’ Henry Slade has a fan base including World Cup-winner, Will Greenwood. Slade has proven his versatility through evidential skills in the centres, as fly-half and at fullback. The twenty-one year old has a bright and promising future within the sport, but could be in competition with another young Rugby star. Stormers’ Seabelo Senatla has excelled time and time again whilst wearing the famous green and gold shirt. His Under-20 debut has seen him score four tries, which makes it hopeful that this is his year.
Argentina’s Patricio Fernandez is another player who has shone at the Under-20 level. Many younger players are shining through the likes of others. Fernandez can play fullback, at fly-half and Clermont Auvergne knows it and believes he has an optimistic future ahead of him. Although a knee injury has limited his playing hours, Saracens’ Titi Lamositele is proving promising signs of success. The Eagles currently have a close eye on the nineteen year old, meaning that once he recovers and proves his fitness, they’re sure to be the first to be in touch.
A worry of being shadowed by his older brother, Jonny Gray has proven he has his own spot in the sport just like his sibling Richie. Although his brother has ad renowned success in his career, Gray is now an established member the Glasgow Warriors making a World Cup impact a possibility. The young stars arising across the world are evidentially a sign of new talent that could make the 2015 Rugby World Cup a remarkable one.
