Rugby fans everywhere are beginning to countdown to the big event and what better way to do so than with a glass of wine from your favourite team’s country. There’s a great selection of Italian red wine as well as white wine from France for you to enjoy. For those who simply can’t wait for the event to start, you don’t need to wait all the way until September 2015 to enjoy the highlights of the tournament. Here are a few events and activities of interest during the run up to the Rugby World Cup 2015:
1. There’s a variety of dates that have been targeted for the vast array of matches that will be taking place in September, which makes planning so far in advance difficult for most. You need not worry though, as a ticket re-sale service will be available later on in the year. This service will enable you to sell back your tickets that you can no longer use due to other commitments, to other fans in a safe and secure way.
2. On 10th June 2015, The Webb Ellis Cup will start a 100-day tour of the UK and Ireland for the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour. Before it reaches the UK and Ireland, the tour will be visiting Romania, Germany, Canada and France.
3. This year welcomes 6,000 volunteers who will become the faces of RWC 2015 and they are soon set to begin their training to welcome the world to the biggest Rugby event of the year, but also to England.
4. The Festival of Rugby 2015 is also another big event taking place on the build up to the big day, with rugby-themed events organised between 10th June and 31st October 2015. Therefore, you can enjoy the celebrations of the event before it has started and a couple weeks after as well!
5. Official welcome ceremonies will commence closer to the start date for the tournament, with schoolchildren from England and Wales welcoming the 20 participating team upon arrival.
