Featured Team - South Africa
The hosts and the first African nation to host the World Cup, South Africa are one of the outsiders to win the tournament, as despite being seeded as hosts, they are in a tricky group with both World cup winners France & constantly strong Mexico within their group. Nevertheless, the team known as Bafana Bafana are looking to put on a strong showing at this years final, and home field advantage must play a part - they finished 4th in the Confederations Cup in 2009.
Their team are no slouches either, expecting to appear for the side include Steven Pienaar of Everton & Benni McCarthy of West Ham Utd. However, South African's PSL league has it's fair share of players, including Katlego Mphela who scored famously twice against Spain.
It remains to be seen just how far South Africa are likely to get in the tournament, but the group drawings have been relatively kind to the hosts, and they could spring a shock.
